3rd April ’17: Pops of yellow

Morning, colour-filers.
Spring has definitely sprung at The Colour File HQ. Today it is, it seems, all about pretty pops of yellow. I love yellow but mainly in interiors – whenever I’ve tried to wear it, I always think of my friend @dianeclarke telling me, in our news reporting days, that ‘Only Doris Day can wear yellow.’ I’m certainly more gutsy about what colours I wear these days (read ‘Don’t give a damn’) and I love pairing yellow with colours it looks like it might fall out with (sorry, yellow) but Doris still wins it hands down, it has to be said. However, my little car boot/jumble sale stash this weekend has won the interiors yellow thing hands down, I feel. Maybe it’s because it was so stunningly bright and sunny that yellow popped out at me everywhere. I also bought a card of super-cute vintage yellow buttons and a yellow and red Faber book (sadly didn’t make the cut for this pic – don’t fret, their day will come). Just to tell you, apart from the tea cosy and Mother’s Day lustre jug, everything was from Saturday and Sunday’s haul, and in total it cost me £20 (the £2 tablecloth, 45p cerulean blue buttons, 18 vintage Chinese lanterns for 50p and a set of six embroidered coasters, under the chocolate egg, for £1 being my absolute favourites). My second-in-command @marinefighter999, who is currently on Easter holidays, has been my photographic assistant.
