24th April ’17: Candy pink & navy

Happy Monday, people.
I’m going to start the week with an apology. There’s been a paucity of shelfscapes from Colour File HQ because, quite frankly, I can’t actually reach the shelf right now on account of the builders beavering away and various items (including the kitchen bin and a rocking chair) being in the way. Hence an abundance of montages – I hope you don’t mind. Personally, I’m enjoying the satisfaction of putting them together. Today’s is a pairing that I think has a kind of regal feel to it – candy pink and navy. I bought this blue and pink knitted scarf at a boot sale aeons ago then discovered the striped shirt at @marksandspencer a couple of months back. I totally love them together in a riot of ‘Are we matching, are we clashing?’ stripes. I spotted this vintage dress in @oxfamchiswick, too, then spied – yes, you’ve guessed it – this @gucci SS17 vintage-inspired shirt and realised that if you’re wanting this colour combination and look, it’s possible to find it everywhere, whether it’s catwalk, charity or carboot. The checkerboard is a men’s tie @barnardosretail (don’t know about you but I love a spot of pink on a man). Anyway, have a great day and I promise I’ll attempt to reach the shelf post haste. I may even take The Colour File on tour and temporarily commandeer someone else’s…watch this space.
