11th June ’17: Pretty piles of stuff

Good morning, people.
When I was a trainee reporter, I wrote a story about a five-year-old boy who went sleepwalking out of his home and ended up in the middle of a local roundabout. In my 20s, I went through a phase of sleepwalking, only mine involved me folding my clothes up into neat piles. I’d wake in the morning and my bedroom looked like a branch of @benetton before the doors have opened (my flatmates helpfully suggested I might like to sleep in the messy kitchen next time). I am one of life’s ‘pilers’ and nothing gives me more pleasure than seeing a pile of delicious fabric, a tower of old books or a stack of jewel-coloured tumblers. Piling is the perfect opportunity to see colours merrily dancing and playing with each other, and my dream is to one day have a massive glass-fronted cupboard so I can pile to my heart’s content and, surrounded by my favourite objects, imagine I’m living in a glorious, eclectic museum of colour. Piling can be so pretty. Later today, I’ll be posting up a Colour File colour influencer interview. Until then, have a colour-filled day.
