12th June ’17: Trump orange?…

Happy Monday, dear people ๐ŸฆŠ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ’ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐ŸŠ๐Ÿ“™
If you grew up in the 70s, as I did, chances are you had your fill of orange before you even hit secondary school. It was everywhere, and usually in the form of synthetic fabrics that gave you static shock and made you hotter than the sun. As a 70s kid, I reckon it takes time to forgive orange it’s ever-presentness and to realise it is capable of being a team player for the modern age. Personally, I now love it, especially this yellowed version, mandarin. It makes me think of the faded spines of Penguin Classics and the sight of it immediately makes me imagine the smell of citrus fruit at Christmas (much as I love them, it still feels wrong to eat tangerines in the summer). I was interested to hear thatย @crayolaย have recently ‘retired’ one of their colours, dandelion, a tangerine-type hue (to be replaced with the blue I previously told you about). There were rumours that it has been given the boot because of White House pressure from it being used way too much for unflattering Trump pictures but these are merely fiction. Don’t you just love a creative, colour-based rumour, though?
