15th July ’17: Best friend paint pranks

Welcome to the weekend, my colour-loving friends.

One of the many things I enjoy about collating The Colour File is the new people it’s bringing into my world. One of them, @quirkychairsliverpool recently posted a picture of this super-cute chair she’s decorated (top right). As soon as I saw it, it pinged me back to being 10 years old again. My friend Anita and I were given the task of painting her mum’s kitchen chairs with cobalt blue gloss paint (Doreen, what WERE you thinking?), remarkably similar to this @anniesloanhome Napoleonic Blue. When we’d finished, without saying anything and, instead, communicating purely through the medium of best friend minx power, we sat down on the chairs and got blue paint all over our legs and bottoms (we were wearing shorts). We thought it was the funniest thing EVER and were in hysterics even when we’d been scolded and were scrubbing away at the pesky stuff in the bath til our skin was more red than blue. To this day I can’t see this blue without thinking of that moment of pure naughtiness. It’s right up there with that time I painted a cat…Catch you later. I’m off a-hunting.
