12th September '17: Criss-cross capers

Hi from Tuesday.
I clearly remember my first encounter with diagonal lines. I was at my grandmother’s house at about the age of four and noticed a tiny hairline crack along the corner of the sash window. Intrigued by it, I ran my finger along it again and again until finally, inevitably, it cut me. Diagonal lines now have more positive connotations, like Missoni chevrons, this multicoloured ‘PLEASE invite me to your party!’ Gucci skirt (top left) and this installation (bottom right) that reminds me of the work of artist @gabrieldawe Oh, and bridges. As a bridge geek, how could I forget about bridges, especially suspension bridges like the second Severn crossing into Wales with its criss/crossing pastel-coloured girders (know of any good coffee table books on bridges? I’ve been looking for YEARS). Have a great day.
