16th September '17: Checkerboard

Welcome to the weekend, folks 🖤☁️🖤
When I was about 10, I was mad about ska music. My older brother listened to it all the time and his love of it rubbed off on me. Wearing Two Tone badges and listening to The Specials’ ‘Too Much Too Young’ was like a silent rebellion within a strict upbringing – kind of rebellion ‘lite’ for the less courageous. Whenever I see black and white checkerboard (which I do in my bathroom every day, top left) I still think of those pin badges and playing 7″ Selector and Specials singles in my bedroom until they almost wore out. What were you listening to when you were that age?
