26th October '17: Pink and red perfection

Welcome to Thursday, folks ❤️🌺🌸🌹❤️🌸I don’t know about you, but one of my definitions of happiness is staring at a colour wheel. I’ve been researching them and have been captivated by the colour rules embedded within them – follow or flout them at your will. I’ve always loved complimentary colours (opposites) but lately I’m getting into a handful of analogous colours that sit clustered together. I’m not the only one: a study from the University of Toronto found that most people prefer simple colour combinations of just two to three favourite colours. One pairing I’ve always loved (and so have design folk this year, such as Gucci, bottom left, and Barneby Gates, top right) is pink and red. I’m not sure if they’re strictly analogous or simply red and one of its tints but I love the effect. I don’t know about you but I think it manages to be soft and hard, masculine and feminine, all at the same time. What are your thoughts about pink and red? Love – or loathe?
