31st October ’17: White space love

Good morning, people. I have a strange relationship with black and white. On the one hand, I want to get some felt-tip pens and colour in between to bring whatever it is to life. It can feel incomplete. On the other hand, I love to get lost in life’s white or ‘negative’ spaces – the breathing spaces in art, music and even writing which intensify what you see or hear by punctuating it with ‘silence’ in between. To me, it’s testament to the notion that ‘nothingness’ has its own special place in our lives and that it helps to stop hubbub constantly crowding things out. What are your thoughts on black and white?
