3 November 17: Blue for a queen

When I was a little girl, I loved drawing the Queen wearing one of her crowns.

My favourites were St Edward’s Crown or the Imperial State Crown, depending on if I was in a gold or a silver mood (she also had a very long neck – my portrait painting leaves a lot to be desired). I recently read that Queen Elizabeth’s clothing colour of choice is blue (Royal Blue included, no doubt).

Vogue magazine studied every outfit she wore for a year and discovered that 29 per cent of them were blue. The colour that featured least was beige (just one per cent of her outfits). I’m definitely with Her Maj on that one. Beige is, I think, best worn by corgis.

Have a great Friday.
