My love of purple is nothing new to you Colour Filers. In fact, when I started this blog nearly 10 months ago, I kicked it off by talking about purple. As well as insisting that our front door was purple, my bedroom was decorated in (very 1970s) purple paisley vinyl wallpaper. When I swapped bedrooms aged five and the walls were changed to a classic green William Morris number (someone else’s choice), I salvaged a ragged sample of the purple paisley and kept it in a drawer. I would take it out and stare at it, running my finger along the swirls and curls and remembering a time when a roomful of its mesmerising patterns would send me to sleep. I have harboured a (now not so secret) desire to have another purple bedroom ever since. Maybe now is as good a time as any. Pantone 18-3838, anyone?….
