20th May ’17: Fruits for fashion & friendship

Happy Saturday, insta-peeps ๐Ÿ‹๐ŸŠ๐Ÿ“๐Ÿ‡๐Ÿ‰๐ŸŒ๐Ÿ’๐Ÿ๐Ÿ‘
Everywhere I look there’s fruit. Whether it’s interiors, fashion or stationary, it’s all about fruit. My bestieย @style_mumhas long been a devoted worshipper of all things pineapple (they denote friendship which, for someone with so many friends, seems most appropriate). But not everyone’s a fruit motif fan. Whilst happy to eat the stuff, my second-in-command, aged 10, declared the other day: ‘I don’t get this fruit obsession. All the girls at school are into fruit. I mean, it’s FRUIT! What’s the big deal?!’ I hear you, but at the same time there’s something rather jaunty about it. The fruit explosion has given grown women the chance to express their devil-may-care, colour-loving side in the name of high fashion (as seen by thisย @zaraย top being worn by fashion-forwardย @lizzie_graham). And that can only be a good thing. It also makes me think ofย @realmirandahartย and her superb ‘fruit friends’ and ‘vegetepals’ and so provides me with daily mirth. Whether it’s splurging inย @charlotte_olympiaย orย @silkenfavours, or grabbing a slice of affordable fruit fashion fromย @oasisfashionย (bottom left) I’m personally liking this whole cheeky fruit vibe. I dream of rocking some Charlotte Olympia fruit shoes….now all I need is to find someone to buy one of my kidneys to make it reality. See you tomorrow for The Colour File’s latest colour influencer interview.
